TRACY WOOTEN
Tracy Wooten is a mixed-media artist based out of Houston, Texas. Known for her bright colors and whimsical paintings exploring new textures and approaches.
Her background is in the creative, but very different area of, accounting and finance. After retirement she followed in the footsteps of her creative family and for the first time in 30 years put on her apron and broke out the easel.
Working on stretched canvas, wood and ceramics with acrylics, glass, textures, embellishments and resin my creative identity is rooted in joy, warmth, and a deep desire to uplift.
There’s a recurring theme of celebration—whether it’s the holidays, the beauty of nature, or the quiet glow of community. I gravitate toward vibrant color, tactile textures, and imagery that feels both comforting and magical.
There’s a gentle strength in my work: a wish to protect, to inspire, and to remind others (and yourself) of the light that persists even in the coldest seasons.
My curiosity is expressed through playful details and a willingness to blend tradition with my own unique sparkle. I seek to create spaces—real or imagined—where people feel safe, joyful, and seen.
I hope to express a mood of hope, festivity, and gentle encouragement. Even in my quietest pieces I want to carry a sense of invitation: “Come in, rest, and let your heart be light.”
